cocktail no.10 | grown folks
2021 is the year of summer brunch. We’ve always been fans, but this summer is another level. The world is opening up and we’re looking for ways to reconnect. On Saturdays, brunch has become an opportunity to frequent a local favorite, Borough. On Sundays, the day often devoted to the errands we failed to complete all week, we’ve found a way to make the mundane delightful with Grown Folks.
Inspired by Fawn and Keith Weaver, we’ve tweaked their Grown Folks Mimosa (find her on Instagram, such fun!) and made it part of our Sunday ritual. Oh, and full disclosure, our version is unnecessarily bougie given our current house bubbly.
Ingredients
1/2 ounce Uncle Nearest 1856
1/2 ounce Cointreau
1 ounce pineapple juice
Billecart-Salmon Brut Reserve
Steps
Chill your champagne flutes in the freezer for at least a few minutes
Pour the first 3 ingredients in the flute
Carefully top off with the champagne
Feel free to play with the ratios. Perhaps you are being more indulgent and want to up the Uncle Nearest - go for it! It’s your brunch. Enjoy!
